By the end of 1999, our business operations were brought into compliance with the international Quality Management Standard ISO 9001.
Our concern for the environment and rational business operation inspired us to follow some of the most developed corporations in Europe and the world which have already established environmental management system in compliance with the internationally recognized ISO 14001, and in 2001 our effort was awarded with ISO 14001 certification. Main motives that encouraged us to take this decision were:

• additional rationalization of costs in all business segments,
• achieving gradual harmonization with legal requirements,
• enhancing reputation on the market as an environment-friendly company,
• encouraging employees to conscientious environmental management,
• ensuring that Paloma's immediate community benefits from its environmental practices

Not only did this successfully completed project set out clear system rules, it also yielded concrete results that will serve as a legacy for our future generations.

OHSAS 18001

PALOMA IS AMONG THE FIRST FIVE SLOVENE COMPANIES CERTIFIED WITH OHSAS 18001

Certificate ISO 14001, delineating a system of environmental management which is structurally similar to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, stimulated Paloma to begin with activities for acquisition of OHSAS 18001 certificate.

In record time of seven months, the project team under the guidance of Mrs. Alenka Aleš succesfully completed certification procedure on 19th April 2002.

Occupational Health and Safety Management System requires continuous control of work conditions and critical operations as well as constant changing of processes and workers' activities related to them. Especially, it is necessary to analize causes and events that might trigger an accident and to define measures for their prevention.

Certification has been completed successfully, but the received recognition is not the only reason for our satisfaction. Working in a safe and healthy environment is the goal that we pursue and that will contribute to satisfaction of all Paloma's employees.
